Report: Turkey says it, Russia to sign new gas contracts in 2021
ANKARA, Nov 23 (PRIME) -- Turkey intends to sign gas contracts with duration from three to 10 years with Russia until the end of the year, Turkish state-run media Anadolu Agency quoted Energy Minister Fatih Donmez as saying on Tuesday.
“The contracts expiring at the end of the year will be extended. Duration of the contracts are not as long as before, they may be three to 10 years,” Donmez said.
“We assume that the deal will be sealed until the end of the year. There will also be an opportunity to increase deliveries according to the needs. The previous deal had no such clause.”
The minister also said that Ankara and Moscow have already reached an agreement in principle, and the gas prices will be the same both for state pipeline company BOTAS and private suppliers.
